Kolkata, the City of Joy looks amazing during night, it feels like Heaven on Earth. I know it feels absolutely chaotic during the day and as I am from a village, I don't feel comfortable with the rush of the city, but I just can't stop myself from admiring the beauty of Tilotomma. When the Sun gets tired after it's whole days work, the city comes out in it's best attire and like a gorgeous lady it remain beautiful, bold and calm until ray of sunshine appears in the next day.
One such beautiful night I was returning from Kolkata to Ranchi by bus. As I got a window seat, I was enjoying the view. The day was hectic and tiring, I fell asleep within no time. Bus was supposed to reach Ranchi by 5.30 in the morning. Before going to sleep I forgot to set an alarm for the next day. I had no idea about the bus journey, as I was sleeping deeply. I woke up with people's noise. I checked my mobile and it was 8.30 am. I asked someone "कहाँ पहुँची है बस?" He replied Ramgarh. I had no idea about the place and as I was not fully wake up from my sleep, so I had no clue what's going on. Suddenly I remember that my bus was supposed to reach Ranchi much earlier and I thought as I was sleeping deeply I missed my destination. I felt helpless. I rushed to the Bus Driver and asked him "रांची कितना दूर है?" with panic. Bus Driver replied "जी अभी रांची पौछनेमे 10.30 बाज जायेगा, जाम की वजह से बस लेट है". I feel relaxed as I have not missed my destination yet.
I returned back to my seat and found that in the whole bus me and another girl are the only passengers for Ramgarh to Ranchi. She asked me if she can use my mobile to make a call as her mobile has no charge. I gave her my mobile and she used it. After 10/15 minutes a call came for her and I gave my mobile to her. I started reading my story book. I found that the weather was pretty cold in Jharkhand and that girl was not wearing even a single sweater or any warmer. We were about to reach Ranchi and the traffic was extremely jammed. I asked about her destination and she replied Ranchi station. She told me that she is also a Bengali. Then hesitantly she shared that first time she is coming out of West Bengal and in Ranchi that also alone. She has no idea about the city. She came here to meet the love of her life after 5 long months. I was bit surprised. I was curious about her and her love story. Many questions were popping in my mind, but I have the habit of not interfering in people's personal life until the person is sharing something voluntarily. So, I restrain myself. I decided that first I will help her to reach her destination and then I will move towards my destination. We left the bus and walked for few minutes then took an auto for the station. She asked for my mobile after making herself comfortable in the auto. She told me that she is a Nurse by profession and she work in a Government hospital in Nadia district in West Bengal.
This is 21st century and we are running after our career and trying to achieve our goals and this girl came all the way from Nadia to Ranchi to meet her Boyfriend? I was speechless. After reaching Ranchi station she made another call and she told me that he is coming. Suddenly she started radiating like Tilotomma the night before. In her simple salwar she suddenly started looking like a Diva. I was happy for her, don't know why. It was time for me to leave her. We said adieu to each other. I took another auto towards my destination and was thinking about her constantly. May be this is what they call "इश्क़ वाला love".
