The Unknown Artist

Esplanade- heaven for shopaholics in Kolkata. This place is all time crowded with 21st century fashion lovers. You will get here everything you need from dress to shoes to jewelry to bags- what not. You will also get yummy street foods here to give yourself a treat and give your tummy a sense of absolute delight. Recently I have been there with my group for shopping. While returning suddenly I found him.
He was doing something in one corner of the road. He was looking not in a good condition from his appearance. I saw that he was drawing an amazing picture of Lord Shiva. With curiosity I searched the tools he was using to paint such a beautiful picture, I was astonished to discover that  he was  using only coloured chalks with his hands.
There was a small crowed around him and his painting. Everybody was talking about him and his creation. But he was not at all bothered about people's reaction, instead he was doing his work with full concentration. People were keeping money near him, though he was looking terribly in need of money but he was not asking for it.  He was engrossed in his creativity. I felt like I am witnessing a true Artist- a true creator for the first time in my life.
I was wondering if he was lucky enough to get a chance to be pass out from a renowned Art College- the story could have been totally different. Instead of discovering him in the streets of Kolkata, may be we could find him in an art gallery, proudly exhibiting his creation. Alas! we live in India, where is no value of real skill and talent - without certificate. Why not any talent hunt competition find people like them? He also deserve a chance to prove himself and show his talent in front of the world and earn better livelihood. If we are talking about Skill India-then why not thinking about people like them? Can't we really do anything for  real talents like them?
